Mythical Mondays – John Henry

Hello everyone!

Today we take our first step into American folklore with John Henry. John was the strongest and best steel driver in the mid 19th-century.

john-henry.jpgWhen America was expanding the railroads to the West, more and more railroad companies were replacing their manpower with machines. John Henry challenges the owner of the railroad to a contest; him versus the steam-powered machine.
